As part of my undergraduate degree, I'm required to travel oversees for an Internship. This year, myself and some other ORU students will intern in Medias, Romania from May 15th to July 5th. Here we will be working with one of Romania's Youth With A Mission (YWAM) base.
I recently got to meet one of the founders of Medias YWAM, Florin M, where he shared his heart about what will take place in and around us during our internship in Medias, Romania. I will be expected to work alongside a missionary from the base in which I will gain insight to their story, struggles, fears, etc. and gain a deeper perspective of life as a missionary.
During this time I will learn what it means to live in community and to share aspects of life together. Some of the many things that I'll have an opportunity to do during my time are:
-Help re-establish unity among existing local churches.
-Be apart of an exciting new church plant

-Weekly help gypsy children at two locations
--Help with summer camps created to aid disenfranchised kids effected by modern-market effects on local commerce
--Help introduce a Christian aspect to a local Medieval Festival
--Aid with practical ministry needs such as administration, computer work, logistics, and work around the base.
--Work Monday through Friday with the day-to-day ministry requirements
--and much more...
Aside from experiencing the unique culture, history, and people of Romania I will be able to "learn from the  flaws and mistakes of the ministry there and have an opportunity to feel like a missionary," says Florin.
